Our School
Wondering what it takes to be an award-winning school? We attribute our success to our highly qualified staff, eager-to-learn students, and engaged parents. Along with the Glendale community, we have also implemented many wonderful programs that make us stand apart. You can learn more about these programs below:
We encourage each of our students to find an extracurricular activity that suits his/her interests. Athletics, clubs, and band offer opportunities to grow and learn vital life-long skills, such as leadership, time management, and teamwork. In April 2010, the Glendale School District was the recipient of the $652,176 Keystones to Opportunity Grant. Glendale was one of the 56 Pennsylvania public school districts to receive a share of nearly $36.7 million in competitive grant funds, designed to improve reading instruction for children from birth to grade 12.
Keystones to Opportunity is Pennsylvania’s vision for sustainable growth in reading achievement. The grant opportunity came to Pennsylvania from the United States Department of Education and the state has the opportunity to receive a total of $193 million over a five-year period. In the first year, Glendale received its award with a chance to receive additional funds during the next four years. For more information, please visit the links on our Curriculum & Instruction page.
