High School Bands

The High School Band includes three ensembles: the concert band, the marching band, and the jazz band.

High School Concert Band
The ensemble takes place 8th period in conjunction with the choirs.  The concert band practices throughout the school year and performs in 2 concerts, one before Christmas break in December and one at the end of the school year in May.  Concert band is a class and students are graded on participation, attendance, and on a few online listening assignments, though these are minimal.

Marching Band
"The Pride of the Glendale Valley", the Glendale Viking Marching Band performs at every Varsity Football game, pep rallies, and community events such as parades and ceremonies.  The marching band is 7th-12th grade and consisted of players and band front including majorettes and silks.  The marching band is a well respected student group that holds the highest standards which has granted opportunities to preforms in places like Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, and New York City.

Jazz Band
The Jazz Band is a premier group that students may only join by audition or by the request of the director.  The Jazz Band also performs at the 2 concerts in the winter and string.  In addition, the group also competes in the Tournament Indoor Association jazz circuit which ends with the band traveling to Wildwood, New Jersey to compete in the Atlantic Coast Championship against bands from all over the Mid-Atlantic United States.
